What the service is
A sow-in weave with leave-out is a sewn track installation that secures extension hair to braided foundations while leaving a section of your natural hair out to blend with the weft. At HairCUSTOMIZED, we place sewn tracks over cornrows and style the leave-out so your natural hair forms a seamless edge and visible parting when desired.
This service does not include extension hair, trimming, deep conditioning, or lacefront work. Because the leave-out is your natural hair, the finished look depends on its texture, length and health. We explain those trade-offs during consultation so you understand coverage, visibility of the leave-out, and realistic styling outcomes before the appointment begins.
Timing and pricing details
The booked duration for this service is 240 MINUTES and the base price is $200. The appointment is scheduled to complete the sow-in installation with leave-out within four hours. For work extending beyond the four-hour mark, an additional charge of $25 for every 30 minutes of service will be assessed, which commonly happens with extra-dense or very long hair.
Extension hair, trims, and conditioning treatments are NOT INCLUDED and must be added with the appropriate add-on when you book. We do not provide lacefront services. If you plan to bring or purchase hair through us, select the add-on so the stylist can allocate time and materials appropriately and avoid unexpected delays on the day of your service.
Aftercare and styling choices
Leave-out styling determines much of the visible finish: it can be straightened, curled, or blended with leave-in products to match the weft. In Laurel's Mid-Atlantic climate, humidity can affect smooth leave-outs, so lightweight anti-frizz products and protective nightly routines help maintain the look. We discuss realistic maintenance expectations during your appointment based on your daily routine and local weather patterns.
For follow-up or adjustments, clients from Laurel and nearby areas such as Jessup, Savage, Beltsville, Elkridge and Columbia can schedule maintenance visits. Evening and weekend openings accommodate commuters using I-95 or the MARC train; bring any purchased extension hair to the appointment and confirm add-ons ahead of time to ensure the stylist has what they need.
