I had an amazing experience at HairCUSTOMIZED! After thinking about it for a very long time, I finally decided to take the plunge and embrace my natural hair and get locs. I did many Google searches and found the HairCUSTOMIZED page, and I am so glad that I did. Although I really wanted locs, I admit I was a little nervous getting them because our hair is truly our crown and getting locs installed is really a huge commitment, not only financially but emotionally as well. But from the day of my consultation appointment, Shavon made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process. She thoroughly explained the whole process of getting locs installed and she also explained the different types of locs (microlocs vs sisterlocs). I really appreciate how she patiently answered all of my many questions. She made recommendations on the best type of install to get based on my hair type, but she didn't try to push or force me to choose a specific install. The choice was completely mine. During the long install process, she was very encouraging and friendly and she always made sure that I was comfortable during the process. She even provided breakfast and lunch for me during my install, which definitely pleased the foodie in me! 😁 I also appreciated her attention to detail as she made sure that my parts and grid were exact and precise. Shavon continues to be encouraging after my install and is willing to answer any follow up questions that I have. I am so grateful to have found Shavon and the HairCUSTOMIZED salon and I look forward to working with her as I continue on my loc journey.
