What the Interlock Method Is
The INTERLOCK method is a tip-to-root technique used to form Microlocs without adding artificial hair. At HairCUSTOMIZED we create a loc grid and interlock each section by working from the natural tip upward into the root. That approach preserves your natural hair length and builds a controlled foundation for neat, uniform locs.
Because no added hair is used, the final size, tension and appearance depend on your hair’s natural texture, density and length. During the consultation we assess those factors so expectations about loc diameter, parting pattern and long-term maintenance are realistic and matched to the interlock method.
Installation Schedule and Timing
This service requires substantial chair time: LENGTH of SERVICE is Approx. 20-30 hours, and the business records list Duration: 720 MINUTES. The work is divided across 3–4 consecutive days to manage fatigue and ensure consistent parting and interlocking. Plan to block multiple days in a row when scheduling, and allow travel time for Laurel commuters.
Daily sessions include a provided lunch for each day of your install to keep you comfortable through long appointments. Evening and weekend openings are available to accommodate commuters traveling via I-95, the Baltimore–Washington Parkway, or the MARC line for before/after-work scheduling.
Service Inclusions and Aftercare
The install price covers establishment of the loc grid and interlocking of hair from tip to root; first retie appointment is included and scheduled four weeks after install. The package also includes lunch each day of the install and a gift from HairCUSTOMIZED. Consultation is required prior to booking to confirm fit and timing.
Because the install is done without added hair, aftercare focuses on protecting your natural hair and maintaining neat reties. The four-week retie is part of the service to address initial tightening and alignment; during the consultation we will review recommended at-home care and next-step appointments.
