During this first visit we review your completed New Client Survey, discuss goals, explain the Sisterlock/Brotherlock system, and place several sample locs. You’ll receive aftercare instructions and schedule the full locking session after the trial period.
Typically several strategically placed sample locs are created to test parting, tension, and product reactions. The exact number depends on hair density and desired parting pattern, and your loctician will recommend placement for the most accurate trial.
The 14–21 day trial lets you and the loctician observe locking behavior, scalp reaction, and how the parting holds with two additional shampoos. It helps identify adjustments before committing to the full install.
Use a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo and avoid heavy oils or waxes that can hinder locking. Follow provided aftercare; avoid retightening or manipulating samples so the loctician can accurately assess progress.
The consultation may refine your planned size, parting, or maintenance expectations based on hair texture and lifestyle. Any adjustments are recommended to ensure long-term health and satisfaction with your final locs.
Complete the New Client Survey beforehand, arrive with clean, detangled hair free of heavy products, and bring reference photos. Plan to discuss goals and medical or hair history so we can tailor the plan.
