Why a consultation is required
Every new client is required to complete an in-salon consultation before any hair service can be scheduled. During this 60 MINUTES session we review your hair history, assess your current condition, and discuss goals for microlocs, traditional loc installations, maintenance, repairs, loose natural styles, braids, or cornrows.
The consultation fee is $50 and non-refundable. After the meeting you will receive a written estimate of the projected service length and cost. That $50 may be applied as a credit toward a booked service if you schedule within 90 days of the consultation.
What we inspect and discuss
We examine hair density, length, existing locs or treatments, scalp condition, and any previous extension work to determine which services are suitable and safe. We also talk about your daily routine and scheduling needs, including commuting patterns; Laurel clients often plan around I-95, the MARC line, and family schedules when choosing appointment times.
Expect a practical conversation about trade-offs: more complex installs or extensive repairs typically require longer service windows and different preparation. Our team explains the relevant service options and helps you choose one that fits your hair, lifestyle, and the realistic time needed for proper results.
How the estimate is determined
Estimates are based on the chosen service type, hair length and density, the condition of existing locs or hair, and whether repairs or additional techniques will be required. The consultation documents these variables so we can provide an accurate time and cost projection for services such as microlocs, loc extensions, reties, repairs, and loose natural styles.
After the consultation you’ll receive a written estimate specifying an expected appointment length and cost range; this helps you schedule confidently around work or family commitments. If you decide to book within 90 days, the $50 consultation fee will apply toward that service as a credit.
