How my virtual consultation works, and why it calms the nerves
My virtual consultation is a 60-minute call and it’s $50. It’s required for everyone new to HairCUSTOMIZED before any hair service can be scheduled. That requirement is intentional. Big changes go better when we plan them, not when we wing it in the chair.
What I can do virtually (and what I can’t)
On a virtual stylist consult, I can review your photos, talk through your hair history, and map out realistic options. I can explain differences like microlocs vs. sisterlocks style approaches, what maintenance might look like, and how choices like parting and grid impact the final look. I can also flag things that may affect timing, like needing repairs or having fine or low density hair.
What I can’t do virtually is hands-on testing or anything that requires physical inspection in real time. If a strand test or a close in-person scalp look is necessary, I’ll tell you that plainly and we’ll plan the right next step.
After the call: I’ll send a written estimate for your length of service and an estimated cost range, so you’re not trying to remember details later.
Exactly what to send so I can assess your hair
If you want the consultation to be useful, send details that help me see what you’re working with. Here’s what I recommend:
- Clear photos in natural light: front, both sides, back, and a close-up of the crown.
- Your recent hair history: any color, relaxer, texturizer, or big changes.
- Your daily routine: how often you wash, how you moisturize, and how you style day to day.
- A product list: what you’re currently using on scalp and strands.
